Frequently Asked Questions
Are we accepting new patients?
Yes! Call us at 856.626.0040 or use our contact form to schedule a call. We look forward to helping you on your wellness journey.
Is nutritional counseling covered by health insurance?
Many insurance companies cover nutritional counseling performed by a registered dietitian nutritionist. We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Independence Blue Cross, Independence Personal Choice, Independence Administrators, Amerihealth, Amerihealth Administrators, and Keystone.
Is there a difference between a nutritionist and a registered dietitian nutritionist?
Yes, there is a significant difference. A registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) has completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, an accredited supervised practice program, and passed a national registration exam. RDNs must also complete continuing professional education requirements. The title “nutritionist” is not legally protected in many states and can be used by anyone regardless of education or training.
How do I get started and make an appointment?
Getting started is simple! Call us at 856.626.0040 or use our contact form to schedule a call. We will discuss your goals, answer your questions, and help you take the first step toward better health.
What are your office hours and cancellation policies?
We offer flexible scheduling, including evening appointments. We also offer telehealth visits for your convenience. We require a 48-hour notice for cancellations to avoid a $75 cancellation fee.
What can I expect at my initial nutrition visit?
The initial consultation includes a health and diet history review, bloodwork review with recommendations, body composition analysis, and review of individualized goals for calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Each client’s needs are assessed as to how recommendations will be best communicated. Individualized meal planning and recommended foods will be discussed throughout your follow-up sessions.
If I'm coming to see you for weight management, will I be required to purchase special foods, snacks, or shakes?
No special purchases are required. We focus on teaching you how to make healthy choices with everyday foods found at grocery stores. Our approach is practical, sustainable, and designed to fit into your real life.
